Common failure causes and symptoms of oil seals

Common failure causes and symptoms of oil seals
Reasons for failure:
I. Normal wear and aging: long-term work, rubber material hardening, loss of elasticity, lip wear.
II. Improper installation: the wrong direction during installation, the use of rough tools leads to the scratching of the lips and the deformation of the skeleton.
III. Poor working conditions: working in high temperature, high pressure and high dust environment for a long time, accelerating the aging of seals.
IV. Pollution: Hydraulic oil pollution, impurity particles will scratch the sealing surface and seal.
V. Hydraulic cylinder rod scratches: The surface of the piston rod is scratched, rusted or the coating has fallen off, which will quickly damage the sealed lip like a fill.
VI. High temperature of the system: If the oil temperature is too high for a long time, it will accelerate the aging and cracking of rubber materials.
7. Improper fit gap: the size tolerance and finish of the shaft or hole are not up to standard.
Failure symptoms
I. External leakage: The most intuitive symptom is that there are oil stains and drops on the surface of the part.
II. Performance degradation: The excavator moves slowly and is weak, and the big arm can’t be lifted, which is a sign of leakage in the hydraulic system.
III. Pollution entry: The hydraulic oil becomes white (emulsified), and metal debris or impurities are found in the oil.
IV. Abnormal noise: Due to poor lubrication, abnormal noise is emitted at the bearing or pin shaft.
