HBR-Elite™ Rod Seal System
Advanced High-Pressure, Low-Friction Sealing for Demanding Rod Applications

1. Product Overview

The HBR-Elite™ is a proprietary, unitized rod sealing system engineered for extreme-duty hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders. Unlike conventional single-element seals, the HBR (Hydrostatic Balancing Ring) design integrates multiple functional components into one assembly, delivering unmatched pressure holding, leak control, and service life in high-cycle, contaminated, or high-pressure environments.

2. Core Technology: The HBR Principle

The seal’s performance is derived from its unique Hydrostatic Balancing Ring geometry. An internal, pressure-actuated wedge ring dynamically adjusts the contact force of the primary sealing lip against the rod based on system pressure.

  • At low pressure: Light contact ensures minimal static friction and stick-slip elimination.

  • At high pressure: The wedge is forced into the sealing lip, increasing contact force proportionally to contain the pressure.
This intelligent balancing act minimizes wear and friction while guaranteeing zero visible leakage.

3. Construction & Materials

  • Primary Sealing Lip: HBR-Elastomer™ X750, a proprietary polyurethane compound with nano-particle reinforcement for exceptional abrasion resistance and low compression set. (Hardness: 92 Shore A)

  • Hydrostatic Wedge Ring: Precision-machined, glass-fiber reinforced PTFE for near-zero friction and permanent elasticity.

  • Anti-Extrusion Ring: Rigid, angled PEEK backbone prevents lip extrusion into gaps at pressures up to 6,000 psi.

  • Static Sealing Band: NBR outer jacket ensures a perfect seal in the housing groove.

  • Integrated Wiper: Bonded high-tenacity polyurethane scraper with a aggressive double-lipped design to exclude grit, mud, and ice.

5. Key Performance Advantages

  • Zero-Leakage Guarantee: Maintains a stable micro-lubrication film without drips, meeting ISO 10766-1 Class A+ leakage standards.

  • Ultra-Low Friction: Reduces breakout and running friction by up to 60% compared to standard polyurethane seals, enhancing system efficiency and control.

  • Exceptional Wear Life: Laboratory reciprocating tests show a 4x life extension over benchmarked competitor seals in high-pressure, dirty environment simulations.

  • Contamination Resilience: The unitized design and aggressive wiper protect the primary seal, making it ideal for construction, mining, and marine applications.

  • Easy Installation: Pre-assembled, single-groove design eliminates complex stacking and reduces installation errors.

6. Target Applications

  • Mobile Hydraulics: Excavator/loader boom & stick cylinders, crane telescopic arms.

  • Industrial Machinery: Injection molding machines, metal forming presses, steel mill equipment.

  • Heavy-Duty & Offshore: Hydraulic winches, deck machinery, offshore riser tensioners.

  • Renewable Energy: Wind turbine pitch and brake cylinders.

7. Ordering & Service
